Principal Contracting Limited were hired to work on a project with the council on their Decent Homes programmes, to modernise and improve their properties due to new housing regulations.
These properties are primarily social sector housing and private sector housing for vulnerable people, making it important for these updates to be sorted to improve the tenant’s quality of life and safety.
The works Principle Contracting carried out included; adapting fire escapes to make them safer and easier to use, as well as creating new footpaths that are wider and with ramps, to allow wheelchair access to the properties.
Since this project, Principal Contracting Limited have won another 12-month contract working with United Living on the Broxtowe Borough Council Decent Homes contract.
Local groundworks company, Principal Contracting Limited have recently finished working on the new Costa Coffee outlet on Chilwell Retail Park on behalf of building contractors Marshalls. PCL were hired by Marshalls to complete the labour, plant and materials for the project. As per usual, PCL completed the work in a professional and efficient and manner with Health and Safety being at the forefront of all their work. With the retail park being open to the public whilst the work was being completed, PCL were able to adapt to the constraints and complete the work on time showing vast experience in dealing with such environments.
The site manager was full of praise for their work and “would have no hesitation in working with them in the future” so hopefully this would be the first of many jobs PCL will complete for Marshalls.
Nottingham based groundworks and civil engineering specialist PCL have just secured contracts with two of the countries biggest homebuilders.
Bloor homes have launched a new development in Manchester and have hired PCL to lay the foundations for the housing development project. Having worked with Bloor on numerous projects in the past, it seemed logical for them to bring in Principal Contracting to work on this project.
Managing Director Jason Priestley said “We’re thrilled to be working with Bloor on their exciting new housing development. We have worked together for a number of years and its a great testament to the company and our staff that they keep returning to us for more and more projects.”
Along with the project in Manchester, PCL have also been asked to work on house and apartment foundations for Kensington Developments in Lytham St. Annes. The contract will last approximately six weeks and takes the company up to the Christmas break having completed two very high profile jobs.

East Midlands based Civil Engineers, Principal Contracting Limited are pleased to announce that the Extension undertaken to the Aldi store in Boston is now complete.
PCL’s Director- Jason Priestley commented “This has been a challenging contract due to the store being live during the works and the constant public interaction with our work force but we as a company are proud to say we have achieved the completion of the first extension undertaken on behalf of Aldi to the complete satisfaction of the client”.
